Please either phone or email Ian for an appointment to view his work.
I live in Belper, just south of the Peak District on the banks of the River Derwent. Getting out into the outdoors here in Derbyshire or further afield to capture the view is what I like the best.
What is a landscape? In my eyes yes it could be a vista across a valley stretching out as far as the eye can see, it could also be a close up view of a forest floor especially in Autumn and even a view of the night sky capturing the stars and milky way. That is the beauty of the landscape. It is the world which we loan while we are here. The beauty is always on a personal level to myself and anyone viewing my work.
I try to get as much in camera correction as possible, because sitting staring at a PC can get a bit numbing at times. Assisting with this are my set of various filters to help balance out the contrast in the photo. There is now a Natural Light Filter to use in the dark to control some light pollution.
For the last year I have now been framing my own work, which give me a free hand on how I crop, mount and select the frame moulding to work with the specific print, hopefully to bring all these aspects together to be pleasing to the eye.
