Emma has been working in Willow for over 10 years. Previously she worked as an illustrator and community artist and has been freelance since 1997.
The environment and wildlife are very important to her and this comes across in her work.
The sculptures are mainly made from willow, with the larger pieces have a very basic steel armature.
Emma works mainly to commission and has created many pieces including work for National Trust, Wildlife Trusts and Derbyshire County Council. She has worked on several pieces for Kedleston hall in Derbyshire which can be seen in their grounds. She is always happy to discuss ideas with clients and work with them to come up with work that suits their needs.
She also runs regular Willow weaving workshops at her studio and at a variety of venues around the area. Teaching is an important part of what Emma does as she likes to share and inspire others.
Community projects are also a way in which Emma engages with the public, producing projects where people have a go.
