My work is thrown on the wheel and is based on traditional and classical shapes, with form and function influenced by past cultures. I fire the majority of my work in a wood kiln, some is salt or soda fired and some electric fired.
I rely upon the kiln firing of the stoneware clay to produce a desirable finish. The surface quality of the clay and various glazes used, combined with the effects of the flame and wood ash in wood–firing produce the colours and texture of each individual pot from the wood firing.
